The Tax Collector's Office in Rockaway Township is a division of the Finance Department and is charged with the billing, collection, reporting and enforcement of taxes, sewer maintenance fees and special assessments.
TAX BILLS:
Please be advised that the 2012 Tax Rate has been confirmed at $2.878 per hundred dollar assessed value.
2012 Final/2013 Preliminary Tax Bills will be mailed on July 31, 2012 with the August (3rd) quarter taxes due 25 days from the date of mailing or by August 27, 2012 without penalty. Third quarter payments received on August 28, 2012 or later will accrue interest from the original due date of August 1, 2012 to the date of receipt of payment. All other tax quarters have a 10 day grace period.
POST MARKS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE – INTEREST IS CALCULATED THROUGH DATE OF RECEIPT
OUR OFFICE HOURS ARE FROM 8:30 – 4:30 MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. THERE IS A SECURED PAYMENT DROP-BOX, LOCATED OUTSIDE OF THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, WHICH MAY BE USED FOR ALL DEPARTMENTS.
WHEN USING THE DROP-BOX, PLEASE INCLUDE A SELF-ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE IF YOU REQUIRE A PRINTED RECEIPT. ALSO PLEASE BE SURE TO IDENTIFY THE DEPARTMENT FOR THE PAYMENT ENCLOSED IN ORDER TO ASSURE PROPER CREDIT.
